The main characters consist of a mother, two children one of which is a toddler and a dog. I was very excited to find this title on the shelf at the local Library. I have owned this book sincewhen I was unmarried and not even thinking about having kids or becoming a children’s librarian.

Too funny, in a very dark way. While not as funny as the original, it is still entertaining. This is the funniest little kids book. Making up for that oversight right now.

But for reading to the baby, it was great, like hocmy Shrek. The coolest book ever. The cute, easy to read book is perfect for comparing and contrasting the different lifestyles of country and city living.

Maybe a beginning reader would find them more enjoyable but for story time or bedtime, it was just ok. The squirrels think it is a fine feeder. The illustrations are great, particularly of the many animals the Hocky family encounters in their move to the country. The Hocky family is an absolute delight.

The book is arranged in chapters of various sizes which you would think would make the book feel choppy- but it doesn’t.
