In another iconic description, in verses 20 and 24, the texts says that she is seated in one’s “lotus heart”, adorned with a crescent moon, conjoined with fire, glowing like the early morning sun, propitious, armed with the “noose and goad”, with expressions marking her benevolence and dissolving fears, and that she is three eyed, attired in red, tender, bestows all wishes to her devotees.

One who establishes and worships an image without knowing this Atharvashirsha will not get any benefit, even if doesrecitations. Reciting the Upanishad ten times removes all sins and obstacles; also prescribes recitation in the morning and evening hours to get the same benefits.

These are the root knowledge about the Mother of the universe. I move about in form of Rudra and Vasu. Oh Bhagavati, salutations to You. I load with wealth the zealous sacrificer who pours the juice and offers his oblation. May that Goddess direct us in correct direction. The Devi Upanishad Sanskrit: Amongst the knowledge She is beyond what is comprehensible by analysis and by deep meditation, She is the witness to that state.
She is the one to bewitch all. She is the twelve Adityas. Hold on to self-study and teaching. She is bliss and non-bliss, the Vedas and what is different from it, the born and the unborn, and all of the universe.
The tantric aspect in this Upanishad, says McDaniel, is in the usage of the terms yantrabindubijamantra, shakti and chakra. Hold on to truth and dharma.
It is a tradition to recite it before Durga Saptashati. She is the planets, stars and constellations. Oh Mother, protect us in all ways.
One may have wives and relatives in every country but one cannot have a brother like Lakshmana in every place. Even repeating ten times makes him free of sins due to the grace of Mahadevi. She is Prajapati, Indra and Manu.
My abode is in the waters of Samudra the ocean of consciousness. Amongst the mantras She is the original sounds, in the words She is the essence of knowledge.
To Kalaratri the Dark Nightto the power of Vishnu, prayed by Vedas, to the mother of Skanda Parvatito Sarasvati power of Brahmato the mother of gods Aditi, to the daughter of Daksha Satito the destroyer of sins, to the beneficial Bhagvati, we convey our salutations. Composed in Sanskrit, it is a minor Upanishad. I created all worlds at my will, without any higher being, and permeate and dwell within them. This mantra is able to satisfy all desires.
