We have so many fun characters! It just makes the story far more special in my opinion. Which isn’t really a negative thing, just something that I noticed.

The Guard, individually and collectively, adrea as a great supporting character. The setting, highlands Scotland.

I grew qndrea to several minor characters and was emotionally invested in the stories outcome. He’s the strong silence type, broody and always tries to do right, he helps Ember become the guard cremet needs to be.

The evil will begin to corrupt them, looking for the one who will set it free! One soul for another. However, the highly readable prose style that captured so many fans for her trilogy is very much in evidence.

RIFT by Andrea Cremer | Kirkus Reviews

Ember is religious, as usual for a woman of her time, even if she does want to learn to be a warrior. Cremer must try to satisfy both sets of readers. Bitch slaps are so lame. Yet, Ember Morrow’s blood runs with bravery and she is willing to face demons and death while walking the path of the warrior.

It’s like getting a new look at the world we sort of knew from Nightshade!

Can I also say how much I enjoyed the world building? Because i see in the reviews that this a part of another series. There is a lot of action, and a lot of emotion running through Rift. Sep 27, Alison rated it really liked it. Sorry, getting off soapbox. I don’t go for insta-love.

They have such sweet and tender moments that made me want to melt. No wolfsbane-style love triangles rifr wolf scuba diving scenes in crener, thank god. Ember is a noblewoman pledged to Conatus since one of their healers saved her and her mother during a difficult birth.

And one of the highest ranked members, Eira, is being tempted by that magic. Most of the main characters are progressive thinkers, but the thoughts of the world outside of Conatus seem in line with the times. Also, Alistair often appeared at very predictable moments, especially when Ember was with her mentor, Barrow. Be the first to discover new talent!

There’s a little bit of a love triangle going on, but not really in a bad way But all I know is I found this boring and a lacking a whole lot. I will continue to read her novels Rift is about the ancient facts behind the Nightshade series. I just andrew more! Now a part of The Circle, they are seen as leaders. For Ember, the call to become a warrior is strong, andgea becoming a Guard in Conatus is not tangible.

Ember Morrow was promised to the knights of Conatus at birth, her life traded for her mother’s. This prequel to the popular Nightshade trilogy takes readers to Scotland inwhere the Searchers and Keepers conflict begins.

tift I don’t think I will ever be an Andrea Cremer fan. Instead it follows the adventures of Ember, a girl in the early fifteenth century Scottish Lowlands who struggles against the expectations of her class and sex to become a warrior For anyone who is worried that Rift is a derivative piece of work meant to capitalize on the success of Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade series
