One of the best books I’ve read this year. The characters are simply vehicles for presenting the ways of thought but Pears built a brilliant web of a fictional story to connect it all. Oddly enough, this is where I work and it was quite peculiar to read the various street names having just walked along their twenty-first century counterparts.
Charles Junior was technically back in charge, but his powers had been severely curtailed. Even though he is a student of law, his narrative demonstrates great emotion and the influence of both angels and demons. Truly from these seeds was sectarianism sown. Inatance, I was unable to add the unabridged version I listened to.

Pair’s characters are as xenophobic, ignorant, blustering, vain, bigoted, full of certitude, and as selfish as Donald Trump. But finegrpost is all on the periphery of our story, merely serving as a backdrop for a good old fashioned English murder mystery.

Religion inspires a different kind of fear now but it is almost impossible to imagine a society governed inetance religious ritual. Pears explores the nature of truth and its dependency on the perspective of the observer in this ingenious and meticulously researched novel set in Restoration England.
